The Halloween coffee morning raised £175, a fun morning with creative pumpkin carvings. Over 25 pumpkins carved. Lots of seeds and pulp composted!
Children took part in fun games and our villagers had a cuppa in the colourfully decorated room! Lovely to see the children interacting with the villagers and enjoying each other’s company.
Many thanks to the volunteers without them it wouldn’t be possible. Also thanks for the kind donations of pumpkins, raffle prizes and the cakes! Finally thanks to all the children who took part some of whom looked wonderful in their fancy dress.

Work has now started on the Cark Park area in the Playing Field and is planned for completion this summer. This has been made possible by two substantial grants from the Coastal Community Recycling Fund (£10,500 in February and £6,650 recently) plus a gift from Atherington Parish Council of £1,195; and an additional offer of £500 from South Molton YMCA Cup and £250 from South Molton Lions Club.
As usual, all of the preparatory ground work is being done by a group of volunteers to save money, but the Tarmacing will be done by a professional contractor, who is working closely with our team.
Without the generous funding from all of these groups and the ongoing support our local community, this project would not be possible.
